Alex Bruni

Dr Alex Bruni is a former university lecturer with a PhD in Art History and Archaeology. She began modelling in her late forties after being spotted in central London and was soon in demand for commercials and editorials, also working as a runway model. A fashion activist committed to fashion diversity and sustainability, Alex blogs and writes to complement her modelling. She is currently working on a book on global fashion to be published by Bloomsbury Academic in 2019, Contemporary Indonesian Fashion: Through the Looking Glass, using Indonesian contemporary fashion as a case study.

In 2016 she walked the runway of acclaimed Indonesian fashion designer Tri Handoko and in 2018 returned to Indonesia to perform the lead speech alongside Musa Widyatmodjo on the changing face of fashion and beauty globally. As a model she is represented exclusively by Grey Model Agency whose mission to make older women and men more visible in fashion and the media is totally compatible with Alex's desire to change the way age is perceived and represented. Recent campaigns include Athleta/GAP using her advanced yoga techniques, Swedish brand Monki, Coco de Mer, Culpables, Dermalex, Prada for HUNGER Magazine, JD Williams, runway for Joanne Hynes a nude portrait for Josh Redman, Roy Roger Jeans skateboarding and a fashion feature for Vogue Italia.

Alex is also featured alongside Rebecca Valentine and Stefanie Lange for the feature-length documentary, Timeless Beauty, commissioned by a Chinese TV channel due to be released internationally in 2018. A regular keynote speaker on behalf of Grey Model Agency and for true representation of all ages in general,Alex has become a formidable pundit on the fashion and modelling industry worldwide.
